ABOUT ME

Mentored at Mindful Pups

Rover-approved Caretaker

Proud parent of two challenging & amazing rescue pups (I get it!)

  • Our past shapes our present. Trauma can inform how we love, trust, build relationships, and navigate the world. The same is true for our dogs (with some differences). Thinking about how our own and our dog’s histories are in conversation with each other has the power to deepen your relationship, build trust, and create a safer learning environment for you both.

  • More goes into having a healthy, happy, and thriving life with your pup than just training skills. As part of your training plan we’ll discuss nutrition, routine, exercise, and environmental factors that influence behavior.

A systems-based approach brings awareness of the intersectional realities of your lived experience and how that impacts the way you and your dog move through the world together.

  • I use positive reinforcement as the basis for learning, but also make room for taking away access to things a dog values (toy, free play, etc,) and other pain-free corrections to influence behavior.
