  • Our past shapes our present. Trauma can inform how we love, trust, build relationships, and navigate the world. The same is true for our dogs (with some differences). Thinking about how our own and our dog’s histories are in conversation with each other has the power to deepen your relationship, build trust, and create a safer learning environment for you both.

  • More goes into having a healthy, happy, and thriving life with your pup than just training skills. As part of your training plan we’ll discuss nutrition, routine, exercise, and environmental factors that influence behavior.

A systems-based approach brings awareness of the intersectional realities of your lived experience and how that impacts the way you and your dog move through the world together.

  • I use positive reinforcement as the basis for learning, but also make room for taking away access to things a dog values (toy, free play, etc,) and other pain-free corrections to influence behavior.

  • "Liz helped me so much with a challenging foster dog. She is extremely knowledgable, compassionate, and will work with you to effectively communicate with your dog. She deeply understands dog behavior and so will guide you to techniques that are dog specific and that will build towards lasting connection and better outcomes for you and your dog. I would highly recommend her!"

    —Heather D.

  • "Liz is a compassionate, brilliant person who deeply understands both dogs and the people who love them. Even a seemingly small piece of advice from Liz greatly improved my communication with my dog and had a noticeable effect. Liz is non-judgmental and takes the time to deeply understand both you and your dog. I am choosy about who I trust regarding my dog, but Liz truly loves dogs and understands what makes them tick. I could not recommend someone more highly."

    —CJ G.

  • "I'm a professional dog sitter/walker and I highly recommend Liz. She’s extremely patient, trustworthy, and knowledgeable about dogs. She is a clear communicator, with a good sense of humor and I turn to her for advice often whenever I have a dog question."

    —Schuyler S.

  • "Liz is the best! My pup is an anxious gal and has separation anxiety and Liz handled her so so well! She was so happy she didn’t want to come home! I can’t recommend her enough!""

    —Swara S.
